This post is all about setting goals in 2022.
I’ve decided to start a little blogging tradition where I document all my goals for the upcoming year(s). The new year, 2022, is quickly approaching and I have put together my list.
My list is in order of priority with the highest at the top and the lowest at the bottom. When December 2022 comes or throughout the year even, I plan to revisit this post and document when everything happens, how it happened, and how I feel about the event.
Why have I decided to start this tradition?
Every year I’m going to keep a tab for my yearly goals and document how far I have come over the years. It might also push me to work harder if I wasn’t able to accomplish all that I wanted to the previous year.

Great Examples For Setting Goals in 2022
1. Strengthen My Body
As I am getting older, I’m starting to notice when my body aches, where it aches, and what causes it to ache.
I have also noticed that I have to be more careful when I lived with heavy objects now because I am aware of the strain it puts on my body. I’m not a flexible little girl that didn’t fear the pain anymore.
It is my goal to take care of my body and ensure that it can maintain its strength and health for many more decades.
For me to strengthen my body, I have to exercise. (I know, ew.) We can all agree that exercising more often is on most of our new year’s resolutions and it has been on mine every year too. But still, I have not gotten into the consistent habit of exercising.
I’d be on a roll and go to the gym consistently for two weeks. Then something comes up and I miss a day. Then I miss two days, one week, one month, and never went back at all. It was a struggle.
Hopefully, my mind is stronger than it was last year and I can persevere through the struggles of working out. I have already started creating a routine.
I do cardio at the gym 2-3 times a week and use resistance bands at home 2-3 times a week.
My target goals for strengthening my body are to strengthen my heart muscles, increase my endurance, and tone my body overall (so decrease overall body fat.)
You read it here first. I am currently 125 lbs (unfortunately, I gained some weight since my how to lose weight post that mentioned how I managed to get closer to 120 lbs. Darn my birthday and the holidays.)
2. Be In Bed By 8-9 PM Every Night
I want to get into the habit of going to bed earlier because it is known that staying up late at night contributes to darker eye bags. Yes, I am doing this mainly so I can look better in the face. But don’t worry. My bad eye bags aren’t the only reason why.
I want to be in bed by 8-9 PM every night because I want to be able to wake up early the next morning. Currently, I have an alarm set at 8 PM every night to get ready for bed such as washing up, winding down, and limiting physical activity. I try to be in bed under the covers by 9 PM.
It doesn’t take me too long to fall asleep either (most nights) and can be asleep by 9:30 if not sooner.
3. Wake Up By 5-6 AM Every Morning
My goal after sleeping at 8-9 PM every night is to be able to wake up at 5-6 AM every day. Why would I do that to myself you ask? Because I am more of a morning person.
I have learned that I am more productive and active in the morning. I absolutely hate washing the dishes after 3 PM. But for some reason, washing the dishes at 8 AM makes me feel good about myself.
Doing more in the morning makes me feel like I can enjoy life even if I am doing chores. It’s weird, I know. But it makes sense to me.
As I write this, I am on my path to routinely wake up between 5-6 AM. I have alarms currently set to 6:20 AM when it used to be 6:40 AM. I will change the alarm time to be sooner once I don’t struggle to get up at 6:20 AM anymore.
The ending plan is to stop changing the alarm when I am able to set an alarm at 5:15 AM and wake up refreshed.
4. Monetize Lily-Anne’s Way
I have had this blog for about 6 months now and am still having a hard time monetizing my blog.
I applied for Google Adsense about 3 months ago and was rejected.
These past few months have felt stressful for me because of the holidays and school. Because of these events, I have not set aside time for myself to make the necessary improvements but am slowly doing my research to do so.
There are no excuses for being lazy though. I know for sure that I have spent an unnecessarily excessive amount of time on youtube when I could’ve been researching for my blog.
Therefore, 2022 is going to be the year when I set my priorities straight and use my time more wisely and productively as I see fit. (But I may still squeeze in some youtube every now and then. It’s good for the soul!)
The end goal is to earn at least $100 by December of 2022. It could be ads, affiliate links, whatever form of income I can get from having this blog.
To some of you, getting $100 from a whole long year may not seem like a lot, but I am setting my expectations low and taking baby steps so that these goals seem more realistic and obtainable for my circumstances.
5. Get Into The Clinical Lab Sciences Program
If you didn’t already know, I am currently in college. I am majoring in Clinical lab Sciences and have to apply for the program in the spring of 2022.
Am I stressed? Maybe a little because they only allow 40 students in the program every year. I have no idea why but that’s what I was told.
My grades and GPA are decent. Despite my resume being short, I talked to one of the staff that are part of the program and they told me that the program was robust enough that I didn’t need to worry about outside experience. SO, that is why I have not worked towards my resume very much. I am already stressed as is.
The goal is to get into the clinical lab sciences program, have a job as soon as I graduate college in a hospital as a Medical Technologist, work at that hospital for 2 years, and transfer to a travel agency to become a travel Medical Technologist. I think that’s how this process works and that is what I am going off of right now.
6. Move Out Of My Parents House
This goal has been a long time coming. The original plan was to move out into an apartment with some friends back in May of 2021. However, my finances were not where they needed to be for me to survive living in an apartment, so I backed out and they moved out without me.
In November of 2021, I pre-leased an apartment. I will not know if I am assigned an apartment room until March/ April and if I do get assigned a place, I can’t move in until July/ August. It would be a year-long lease.
Moving out of my parent’s house is a goal of mine because I crave my independence. I want to be in control of my time, the food in the house, the cleaning habits of the house, EVERYTHING. Then, if anything goes wrong, I can only blame myself.
I want true independence.
7. Learn How To Golf
For the past year or so, I have gone to plenty of my cousin’s golf tournaments and she and her parents are both great golfers. They offered to teach me but I was always embarrassed by looking stupid.
A year later and I have finally found the courage to give it a shot. I’ll have to keep some golf clubs for myself, go out to the driving range alone, and hit some balls.
My relatives are really good at making gold look fun and relaxing.
You’ll get decent exercise from all the walking you have to do and you’ll enjoy the fresh air the entire time you’re out there. (It’s great for social distancing too if you know what time in history this is right now.)
After seeing my cousin, my aunt, and uncles play golf, they make it look really fun as a hobby. I can see myself going out there for fun very often.
Eventually, I could teach my kids to do golf as well and they will have a sport to play throughout their school years too. But for now, I want to learn for myself.
Am I going to be a pro golfer by the end of the year? Probably not. But I hope to be able to play on a regular golf course and leave the driving range by then.
8. Gaine 50 New Subscribers On Lily-Anne’s Way
As I mentioned before, I have had this blog for 6 months now and still only have 2 subscribers. My boyfriend, and a co-worker.
I am still too scared to tell my friends and family because I am afraid they will make fun of me or tell me I am wasting my time.
Anyway, for 2022, I am going to be implementing some email marketing strategies that I have read about but still haven’t tried and see where it takes me. I plan to create more pdf printables and create a free library that my subscribers will have unlimited access to for as long as they are subscribed and receiving my emails.
The plan is also to make it password-protected so that it is much easier to ensure my subscribers are the only ones receiving the content. (I’ll change the password every now and then too to keep it interesting. Hehe.)
Other than that, I don’t really know how I’m going to gain 50 subscribers but I am going to figure it out and get it done. Watch me.
Ending Note
Those are some pretty goals for me. There aren’t too many but just enough for me to tackle throughout the year.
Does my list give you the inspiration to create your own? To achieve some goal you thought would be too difficult?
Let’s persevere together and get these goals checked off.
Also, before I forget to mention this: My long-term goal is to turn these goals into habits or acquired skills so that I can become an asset to more opportunities in my future. Everything that I want to learn or do for myself is to set my future up for success.
Thank you for reading this far, get to making those lists, create an action plan for them, and have a happy new year.
