This post is all about the skincare products that you need to know about.
Even though I have a skincare routine, I don’t exactly know what my skin type is. I want to say that I have combination skin.
I also have most of my acne on my T-zone area aka the forehead and around the nose.
I’ve tried plenty of different products and as of right now the products that I will be talking about below are part of my current skincare routine.

6 Amazing Skincare Products That You Need to Know About
1. Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
I recently started using this face wash and it definitely lives up to its name.
I used to use a charcoal face wash but it would leave my skin feeling dry and flaky. Because of these symptoms, I incorporated a toner and moisturizer which I will get into next.
Ever since I started using the Cetaphil cleanser, my skin doesn’t feel as stripped of oils as it did before.
At first, I was wary about this cleanser because of how thin and lightweight it was. I felt like it wasn’t doing anything for my skin. But the fact that it was so thin and lightweight makes me believe that I have my face in good hands. I don’t feel like there are heavy harsh chemicals going onto my face as they did with previous products.
The colors of the company are also very satisfying for my eye. I feel refreshed just from looking at it.
2. Thayer’s Facial Toner, Rose Petal
This is the only toner brand I have tried and can’t really tell if it does much.
I used to use a face wash that would dry out my skin which is why I started using this toner in the first place. But once I switched to the Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, my face didn’t feel dried out anymore.
This toner has kept my face moisturized decently well, but since I don’t really have a use for it anymore, I’m just trying to finish up the product. I plan on stopping the use of toners from my skincare routine for this reason.
If you do decide you want to try this product for dry skin, I would recommend this toner. You only need a small amount which is really nice. It spreads fairly easily in my opinion.
I am always cautious of how much product I put on my face because I don’t want product build-up.
3. Aveeno Positively Radiant Moisturizer/ Cerave Skin Renewing Night Cream
I use two different moisturizers each day.
In the morning I use the Aveeno SPF 15 moisturizer. It’s lightweight and doesn’t make my face feel greasy or oily after applying. It also smells very nice.
I’ve gotten compliments from strangers that walk by me who tell me I smell nice (It sounds creepy but it actually makes my day. The people that compliment me also do it in a very kind, non-creepy way). This moisturizer also spreads and distributes very nicely.
The second moisturizer I use is the Cerave Skin Renewing Night cream.
I’ve been told that cream is better for your skin at night because it’s thicker. Don’t quote me on that, but so far I haven’t had any problems with this cream.
A cream sounds heavier and it is a little thicker than my Aveeno moisturizer; however, it is still lightweight enough that I don’t notice it on my face. I feel refreshed with it more than anything.
I’m also sleeping 80% of the time when it’s on my face anyway.
I haven’t used any other night cream so far but this one has been working for my skin type. I haven’t had any clogged pores or breakouts since I started using it.
4. Cerave Eye Repair Cream
This eye cream is also part of my list of recently used products.
There was another eye Cream brand that I used to use, but at the time I was convinced that it was making the dark curves under my eyes even worse than they already are.
Technically, eye Cream is meant to prevent skin damage, prevent wrinkling, and help with hydration from what I understand, but I really wanted it to be a magic solution to dark eye circles. So I stopped using it.
Then, a couple of months later I decided to try again and stuck with the trusted (in my opinion) Cerave brand for eye Cream.
I haven’t had any form of reaction to this product and the ingredients in the Cerave products are dermatologist tested for great skincare.
If you use this product, be sure to apply a very minimal amount with your RING finger. It’s the most gentle finger you have.
This product also comes in a small tube.
With how small this tube is, you may think it’s a waste of money for how little they give you. In reality, this tiny tube should last you months and months if not a year at least. You don’t need a lot each time you use it. Every morning and night will do.
5. Mei Apothecary Rose Quartz Roller
This roller works really well for relaxing my face. Especially under my eyes.
I normally use this roller after I have done everything else in my skincare routine so I would roll after I apply eye cream.
When I roll it on my cheekbones, the coolness loosens up my facial muscles with the coldness.
I chose the rose quartz roller over the jade roller because I wanted a roller that stayed cool for longer and the jade roller is known to warm up quicker because of its material.
This roller is not part of every morning routine I do I will admit; however, each time I do use it, it never fails to make me feel better and feel more awake. I even used it this morning before I wrote up this blog post!
6. BONUS: Cetaphil Extra Gentle Daily Scrub
You have probably noticed that I mainly have Cetaphil and Cerave Brand products.
I decided to add a bonus product here because I don’t use this in my daily routine.
This product is used once a week because exfoliating your skin too often could cause more harm than good.
When I first started using the product, I got ahead of myself and wanted the product to work its magic ASAP. So what I did was excessively scrub my skin with the product to make sure I got deep into my pores and dug in there to get the gunk out.
Within the next day or two, I started experiencing facial purging. If you don’t know what that is, it’s when your acne-prone areas go through a quicker cleansing phase of pushing the gunk up to the surface of the skin all at once.
So when I was going through purging, I experienced a lot of white dots on my forehead because all of the gunk deep in my skin was being pushed to the surface at the same time at a quicker pace than it does naturally.
So take it from me and don’t scrub excessively with an exfoliator. Be gentle with your face.
Be gentle with your face with any skincare product you use.
Luckily this exfoliate is gentle enough to use every day so if you want to use this as your primary face wash, you can.
But I personally don’t.
Ending Note
I hope I helped you in deciding how you wanted to go about your skincare routine.
In the end, your skincare routine should make you feel clean, light, and beautiful.
Let me know in the comments below your thoughts on how I go about skincare.
Maybe even give me some suggestions of what more I could be doing. I am always open to new ideas. Good day!
